Dear Music
Lovers,
I welcome you to my website and thank you
for visiting me and getting to know about
me. My thoughts on music should tell you
something about my personality. It is not
possible to achieve any heights as a
vocalist or musician without humility and
hard work. My wonderful parents (God bless
their souls) gave me one enduring lesson in
life, which was to never give up in the face
of adversity and life’s challenges -- and
the classical music of India and Pakistan is
indeed technical and challenging.
Music demands riyaz (practice) every day and
the search for the true or the pure swar
(note). Once a singer has found his swars
with diligence and renders them with
humility it becomes a spiritual experience
and creates a connection with God. Such a
connection also brings inner peace and
tranquility.
I endeavor to learn something every day so
as to seek the knowledge and purity of soul
that I have ventured on, hopefully to
achieve one day.
Forever a student
Anjum Siddiqui
